A CHINESE herbal medicine practitioner is due to face court today after being charged with manslaughter.
The 52-year-old Hornsby man was arrested and charged on Thursday, August 16, following a post mortem examination of a 56-year-old woman, who died on June 8.
Strike Force Caff was established by Kuring Gai Local Area Command to investigate the woman’s death.
Police will allege the man, who was a registered Chinese herbal medicine practitioner, had been treating the woman for an existing medical condition since her arrival to Australia in March this year.
The man was charged with manslaughter and refused bail.
“Police have been advised the man’s registration has been suspended,” A NSW Police spokesman said.
He is due to appear in Hornsby Court today.
