Federal Liberal MP Julian Leeser will face eight contenders in the race for re-election for his safe blue ribbon seat of Berowra — when voters return to the polls for the second time this year on May 18.
Candidates he will face include Labor’s Katie Gompertz, The Greens’ Monica Tan, Sustainable Australia’s Justin Thomas, The Science Party’s Brendan Clarke, Independent Mick Gallagher, United Australia Party’s Craig McLachlan, Independent Roger Woodward and Christian Democrat Simon Taylor.
The latest two party preferred Newspoll results sees Scott Morrison’s Liberal National Coalition Government trailing Bill Shorten’s Australian Labor Party 49 per cent to 51.
