The RSPCA has made a case against the owner of a french bulldog in Sydney after it was allegedly found suffering from a range of horrifying issues.
The owner, Dai Qi Zhou, 29, of Haymarket faced Hornsby Local Court on Wednesday over three counts of being in charge of an animal and failing to provide vet treatment.
According to court papers, the RSPCA alleges between June 9 and July 7 Ms Zhou failed to provide veterinary treatment to a male, brindle, french bulldog for Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome.
Court papers reveal the French bulldog was also allegedly suffering from “persistent regurgitation” and “poor body condition” at an address at Ulric Lane in Northbridge.
Magistrate Chris Longley stated, “there are three allegations under the prevention of cruelty to animals act and failing to provide veterinary treatment to animals”.
In response Ms Zhou said she was pleading not guilty. On the day, she was supported by her mother in court.
Outside of court Ms Zhou was provided the opportunity to make comment about the charges, but declined to do so.
