Three of the community’s restaurants have been put on a national stage and recognised in the Australian Good Food Guide 2019 Chef Hat Awards.

Berowra Waters Inn, Cod’s Gift at Dural and Quoi Dining at Baulkham Hills all received hats in this year’s awards.

Berowra Waters Inn scored 14 out of 20 and Cod’s Gift and Quoi Dining tied with a mark of 12.

The restaurants were three of 375 venues to be awarded nationwide — being judged on the food alone by anonymous inspectors appointed by AGFG.

Quoi Dining head chef Joshua Mason said “passion, dedication and determination” were key to the restaurant’s success.

The Modern French and Australian restaurant was also included in last year’s awards.

“It is always a great feeling to be recognised for your dedicated work,” Mason said.

“The team at Quoi has a lot of passion and belief and to be representing the Western Sydney and Hills district in the quality dining scene on a bigger stage is always a humble feeling.”

Head chef and owner of Berowra Waters Inn Brian Geraghty said the nod was “a great achievement for the restaurant” and “a large group effort by every staff members here at the Inn”.

“To sum up our feelings on the big win is exciting,” he said.

“I personally think our new found success is due to our hard work on Australian cuisine — we do our best to showcase what we grow in the Hawkesbury,” he said.

“Also, I might add that all our staff believe in our mission to create a great restaurant.”

Seafood restaurant Cod’s Gift opened its doors in Dural in late 2017 and also received a Chef Hat in last year’s awards.

“It’s great to have industry recognition for our work and it’s wonderful to be in a group of such high quality restaurants.”
