New details have been revealed after a road rage incident which involved a man stomping onto a school bus and hitting a Year 9 Shore student in the head in front of his classmates.

Brenton Lowe, 20, of Silverwater pleaded guilty to charges of affray and common assault on Monday.

A charge of driver in left lane/traffic line not give-way to bus was withdrawn.

On previous court dates, he pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and not give particulars to other driver.

According to police facts about 6.20pm a Forest Coach hire bus carrying at least 40 Shore students aged between 12 and 16 was travelling north on Burns Bay Rd in Lane Cove when the bus changed lanes and a “minor collision” happened with a BMW, being driven by Lowe.

Lowe got out of his car and began screaming at the bus driver stating, “you didn’t f***ing indicate mate” and while the two men were arguing a school student said “Oi, you dog”, police facts state.

In response Lowe threatened the students on the bus yelling at them and students began to film the incident.

Police facts show Lowe’s girlfriend joined in on the tirade, swearing and abusing the bus driver before Lowe got onto the bus, trying to find the student who called him a “dog”.

“Who stuck their fingers up? Who is a smartarse c***? I heard one of you at the back window too. You’re all quiet now, quiet like little b****es,” Lowe stated.

A 15-year-old boy said “we are all just 12-year-old-kids” and Lowe punched the child on the face “which was close to the roof of the bus and causing it (his head) to hit the roof”, court documents read.

The boy suffered bruising to the head, a continuing headache, damage to two teeth including enamel fractures and a laceration under his left eye.

Further, it states Lowe called the boy a “smartarse c***” and his younger brother, 13, who was sitting beside him was so scared he “put his hand in front of his face as he felt fearful he was about to be hit”.

The bus driver attempted to get Lowe’s details but he refused and fled the scene with police catching up to him shortly after where he “made admissions to punching the victim”, police facts state.

During court proceedings on Monday when Magistrate McGlynn was reading the facts she stated, “well that’s a very serious, very unattractive set of facts”.

His lawyer Nick Felton said it was indeed a “serious matter” and explained the child who was injured during the matter was seeking compensation for medical bills.

“There’s some compensation being seeked by the victim, some dental work,” Mr Felton said.

The matter was adjourned to November 2 for a full sentencing assessment report.
