Alleged detainment, assault of teen girl: Man to face court

A second person has been charged over the alleged assault and detainment of a teenage girl in Sydney’s west.

A second man will face court over the alleged assault and detainment of a teenage girl in Sydney’s west.

It comes after reports that a 14-year-old girl was allegedly detained for several hours, assaulted and supplied drugs by a man and woman.

Detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes squad set up a special strike force in July to look into the alleged assault.

Earlier this month, a 24-year-old woman was charged for her alleged role in the incident and remains before the courts.

Following further inquiries, a 39-year-old man was arrested following a vehicle stop in Ryde about 11.30am yesterday (Tuesday 12 October 2021).

Police allegedly located and seized methylamphetamine in his possession.

The man was taken to Ryde Police Station where he was charged with a string of charges including detaining in company, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and drug supply.

He was refused bail to appear in Hornsby Local Court on October 13.

Further arrests are expected.
