Police are calling for four motorists who could help solve the case of a hit-and-run in Sydney’s north west to come forward.

About 4.50am on September 20, a 28-year-old woman was struck by a car while walking west along Macquarie St, Windsor, near several fast food outlets and a motorcycle shop.

Police are appealing for the drivers of a white single cab ute, a white van, a white hatchback and a dark coloured sedan to come forward in an effort to help them with their enquiries.

“Two vehicles slowed, steered around her and continued on,” A NSW Police spokeswoman said in a statement today. “A third vehicle struck her and failed to stop and assist.”

NSW ambulance rushed to the scene.

Paramedics treated her at the scene of the accident before she was taken to hospital in a critical but stable condition.

“Officers from Hawkesbury Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was examined by the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit,” the spokeswoman said.

“Police arrested and spoke with a man, who has since been released pending further inquiries.

“It is believed that the drivers of these vehicles may have seen the pedestrian prior to the collision.”

Crash Investigation Unit manager Inspector Katie Orr said there was no suggestion the motorists played a role in the collision.

“Investigators are re-appealing for two motorists who were in the area between 4.30am and 5am on Friday, September 20, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” Insp Orr said.
