Castle Hill RSL crowned gymnastics Club of the Year

CASTLE Hill RSL have celebrating another highly successful gymnastic season, taking home the prestigious 2017 Overall Club of the Year Award.

CASTLE Hill RSL have celebrating another highly successful gymnastic season, taking home the prestigious 2017 Overall Club of the Year Award.

The highly-reputed gymnastics club also won the Trampoline Club of the Year and the Trampoline Gymnastics Elite Coaching Team of the Year.

Individually, Alan Osman who won Junior Elite Athlete of the Year while Nicolas Diaz Ballas lifted the Trampoline national stream Athlete of the Year.

The Times’ former Junior Sports Star nominee Dominic Clarke — who competed at the 2017 World Trampoline Championships — was the Trampoline Elite Male Double Mini Athlete of the Year.

Gymnasts from the club have gone on to win major Australian and international medals

In addition, the high achieving club were nominated for Mens Gymnastics Club of the Year and Trampoline Levels Coaching Team of the Year.

Gymnastics manager at the club, Vanessa Whelan said they are delighted receive the accolades.

“We are a community based club offering programs across a wide range of areas, and this award is a tribute to our focus and commitment to quality,” Ms Whelan said.

“I am so proud of our team of coaches and athletes, both competitive and recreational that add value to our club.

“We continue to receive support from the board of directors at Castle Hill RSL, and have a state-of-the-art facility which enables us to offer competitive programs in men’s and women's gymnastics and trampolining.”

She said the club has added a seniors fit for life program to our schedule and are preparing for the state championships on April 21.
