A massive development project in northwest Sydney, featuring nine residential towers, will soon be part of the once semirural area’s rapidly urbanising landscape after receiving a key tick of approval.

Set for completion in 2029, Property developer CDMA Australia’s $700 million development includes 911 apartments split across nine towers.

The apartments will be located at 34-42 Tallawong Road, Rouse Hill — a major player in the NSW growth corridor.

Situated opposite the Tallawong Metro Station, the apartments would be nearby a future town centre which has been approved by Blacktown City Council, and 50km northwest of the Sydney CBD.

Designed by Kann Finch, the apartments will feature a green internal spine and a 2200 sqm public plaza.

The plaza will be split into two main zones — an open paved area facing the street and internal green lawns for residents. It will also include a children’s playground.

The residential development will also feature two retail premises and 1000 basement carparking spaces.

The $700-million development plans were submitted to Blacktown City Council in December last year after a voluntary planning agreement was approved to increase the height limit in the area to 26 metres.

When the plans were submitted, CDMA development manager Alex Guan said it had taken three years of co-ordination with the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment to arrive at that stage.

“The height limit of the buildings was increased to 26m and the residential yield was increased from 630 units to approximately 900 units subject to DA approval,” Mr Guan said.

“Significantly, the development has set a new precedent for heights in the area.”

Mr Guan said the 11 month approval process was one of the quickest for a residential build of this scale.

This will be CDMA Australia’s second project in the region after its residential development, Rosella Place, at 56 Cudgegong Rd, Rouse Hill.
