More traffic changes are ahead on Showground Rd, Castle Hill during the $41 million upgrade from next week
Temporary traffic changes and controls will be in place at the intersection at Rowallan Ave and Castle St between Tuesday, January 10 and Monday, January 30.
Roads and Maritime Services has said the intersection will remain open “however some traffic delays are expected”.
Night closure of the intersection at Rowallan Ave and Showground Rd will be in place between
Monday, January 16 and Tuesday, February 28.
Closure to through traffic will be in place between 8pm and 5am.
Night work will be carried out along Showground Rd and adjacent streets up to five nights a week between 8pm and 5am.
Access to properties along Showground Rd and Rowallan Ave will be maintained at all times.
A reduced speed limit of 40km/h will remain in place along Showground Rd.
Roads and Maritime Services is advising motorists to follow signs and traffic control directions.
“Every effort will be made to minimise noise associated with the work, particularly at night. The community is thanked for its patience while work is carried out,” a spokesman said.
The $41 million upgrade to Showground Rd is aimed to reduce congestion and increase traffic capacity.
PENNANT HILLS RD
Changed traffic conditions started today on Pennant Hills Rd between Murray Farm Rd and Hannah St, West Pennant Hills as part of the NorthConnex Project.
The work includes the installation of safety barriers, excavation and concreting as part of work to realign Pennant Hills Rd southbound.
The road is being aligned to create space for the tunnel off-ramp and new southbound exit from the NorthConnex tunnel.
Night work will be carried out from Sunday to Thursday between 9pm and 5am for around seven months, weather permitting.
The two southbound right turn lanes from Pennant Hills Rd to the Hills M2 Motorway will be reduced in length from today for three weeks. The lanes will remain in operation during this time.
A reduced speed limit will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Road users are asked to follow the direction of traffic control, reduced speed limits and signs.
A spokesman said: “Roads and Maritime thanks the community for its patience as this important work is carried out.”
