Castle Hill policeman Jay Maleckas, who is accused of assaulting a man during an arrest in September, is planning to fight the charges.
The 43-year-old Senior Constable allegedly assaulted Steven McIvor at Castle Hill on Saturday, September 5.
North West Metropolitan Region and the Professional Standards Command officers were investigating the alleged assault during the arrest of a man and charged Sen-Constable Maleckas with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault.
On April 8, he was ordered to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Thursday, when he was excused from attending but the court heard he would plead not guilty.
His current employment status is under review.
Magistrate Peter Feather adjourned the matter to July 1.
