The refurbished Pioneer Theatre will open its first season tomorrow.
The Castle Hill theatre in Castle Grand has undergone extensive renovations, including a retractable wall and seating units, change rooms, kitchen, box office and outdoor terrace.
The 350-seat theatre will open tomorrow with Blackout Theatre Company’s production of Singin’ In The Rain.
Then, children’s theatre company Spot On Productions will bring its version of Annie Jr to the stage in November.
Later in the month a new event, The Pioneer Play Festival, will host workshops, sessions and readings.
On November 20, children’s music group The Beanies will bring the show, The Beanies EGG-strodinary Day, to the stage.
Children can join Laura Dawson, Mim Rizvi and Michael Yore as they look after an egg for a day in The Beanies’ first full- length stage show.
The group performed the show for the first time at the Sydney Fringe Festival.
“We got some great feedback from those shows and kids really enjoyed it,” Yore said.
The Beanies visited The Pioneer Theatre last Friday and Yore said it was “a lovely space”.
“It’s very new and very fresh-looking,” he said.
