HILLS Shire councillor Robyn Preston has been officially endorsed as the preselected Liberal Party candidate to run for the seat of Hawkesbury in the 2019 State Election.
Ms Preston, who is also the former deputy mayor of The Hills Shire Council and has served as councillor for the past decade, was officially endorsed by the Liberal Party of NSW today.
The Liberal Party candidate said her major concern lies with creating more jobs across the Hawkesbury, if elected in March.
“As someone who already represents a quarter of the Hawkesbury electorate as a Councillor, I am excited by this opportunity to campaign for an even better future for the region and continuing improvement in its infrastructure, transport and services,” she said.
“Through my work, I have learned about the Hawkesbury community’s concerns, such as the daily cost of living pressures and the need to support more local jobs.
“I have always been eager to help people and as a local government councillor I successfully advocated for a myriad of community needs, including the delivery of better roads and better support for vulnerable people.”
Ms Preston has worked with current Hawkesbury state Liberal MP Dominic Perrottet, who will contest the seat of Epping next year — citing his work to deliver major infrastructure funding for the third river crossing at Richmond, Pitt Town Bypass and a new PCYC centre.
“The Berejiklian Government’s strong economic management has meant that we are free of Labor’s debt and can invest in more sporting and recreation facilities for local families, supporting local small businesses to create more jobs and take pressure off families,” Ms Preston said.
“I believe that this is an amazing region, and I want to help get even more things done for the community – with better infrastructure, local services and transport.
“If elected, I will work hard to help ensure that we get the health, aged care and respite services that our community needs, and that our region’s local character is respected.
