NSW Food Authority: List of eateries slapped with food-safety fines

A name and shame list of NSW restaurants and cafes has revealed hygiene horrors from outdated food, rodents to dirty diners. REVEALED: ALL THE EATERIES WITH FINES.

The deadly dangers of a packed lunch

Local councils have slapped thousands of dollars worth of fines to restaurants and cafes across NSW for breaching food safety and hygiene regulations between March and July.

The list of infringements includes selling food past its used by date; filthy premises; pests and inadequate hand washing facilities.

Killara Bakery on Koola Avenue in East Killara has been slapped with four fines worth a whopping $3420 in five months.

Another repeat offender was Jacko’s Bakery in the Hunter region which received five fines worth $2200.

Other eateries heavily fined include Thai Square Springwood in the Blue Mountains, Albees Kitchen in Campsie, Fich at Petersham in Sydney’s inner west, Sri Lakshmi Supermarket in Wentworthville and Vine and Grind in Liverpool.

Magnolia Cafe, Armidale: $880 for selling food past its used by date

Bonolota, Rockdale: $880 for failing to maintain adequate hand washing facilities - previous warning given

BLUE MOUNTAINS

Thai Square Springwood: $2640 for failing to maintain clean food premises- previous warnings given; failing to take practical measures to eradicate and prevent pests - previous warning given; and failing to maintain adequate hand wash facilities

CAMPBELTOWN

Noodle Paradise, Rosemeadow: $880 for failing to store potentially hazardous food under temperature control

CANTERBURY-BANKSTOWN

Huts Bazar Fruits and Mixed Business, Lakemba: $1760 for failing to have a temperature measured device at the premises where potentially hazardous food is handled - previous warning given; and failing to display potentially hazardous food under temperature control - previous warnings given.

House of Thai Eateries, Bankstown: $1760 for failing to maintain adequate hand washing facilities and failing to maintain clean food premises

Bongo House,Lakemba: $1760 for failing to store potentially hazardous food under temperature control - previous warnings; and failing to have temperature measuring device at the premises where potentially hazardous food is handled - previous warnings given

Albees Kitchen, Campsie: $1320 for failing to maintain easily accessible hand washing facilities on the food premises; failing to maintain the food premises to the required standard of cleanliness - previous warnings given; and failing to display potentially hazardous food under temperature control, ($440)

Fine Cut Quality Meats, Condell Park: $880 for selling food found to contain illegal preservatives in various minced products

Winter Garden by Zouki, Darlinghurst: $880 for failing to display potentially hazardous food under temperature control - previous warnings

LIVERPOOL

Vine & Grind, Liverpool: $2420 for selling food that is unsafe and failing to ensure food contact surfaces of equipment is in clean and sanitary condition
