The hilarious production of Calendar Girls is being performed by The Castle Players at the Pavilion Theatre next month.

To start the 2017 season off the company is holding a charity night on Wednesday, February 8 to raise money for the Cancer Council.

There couldn’t be a more appropriate play for a cancer charity night as Calendar Girls is based on the true story of 11 members of the Women’s Institute (British version of the CWA) who posed nude for a calendar to raise money for the Leukaemia Research Fund,

The Castle Hill Players have supported the Cancer Council fundraiser, Hills Relay For Life, for years.

Team captain Maureen Cartledge said several members of The Castle Players are cancer survivors and in 2015 two much loved members of the group died..

“It hurt us quite a lot, we lost them both within two days,” she said.

Pavilion Theatre regular and Baulkham Hills resident Annette van Roden is directing the play written by Tim Firth.

Calendar Girls is the fastest selling play in British theatre history.

The charity night on Wednesday, February 8 is one of several Hills Relay For Life events being held in the lead-up to the 24-hour event at Castle Hill Showground on Saturday May 20.
