IT’S CONFIRMED — four Liberal Party candidates will battle it out for a chance to represent their community at the next state election.
Hills Shire councillor Robyn Preston, Hawkesbury councillors Sarah Richards and Nathan Zamprogno, as well as Riverstone Liberal Party branch president Danica Zegarac will battle it out in the preselection process to represent the Liberal party in the state seat of Hawkesbury.
The battle to be preselected comes after an infamous stoush that saw current Hawkesbury state Liberal MP and NSW Treasurer, Dominic Perrottet, fail at a bid to overthrow sitting Castle Hill state Liberal MP Ray Williams from his seat.
The bid resulted in the senior liberal party member decided not to contest his seat in the Hawkesbury and Epping state Liberal MP Damien Tudehope resigning to end government infighting.
It is understood the four candidates have been pleading their case to branch members as to why the should be selected to run for the seat of Hawkesbury.
A senior Liberal Party member said a preselection meeting will take place in December, where a secret ballot will be held to determine the candidate.
“The winner of that preselection secret ballot will be announced from there,” the member said.
“They are currently sharing their vision for Hawkesbury and what their priorities are for their campaign.”
