From next Monday Hills residents will finally be allowed to go to the pub for a beer with restrictions on larger venues like pubs, clubs and restaurants easing from June 1.

The move will see dozens of Hills venues open their doors.

Patrons will not be allowed to stand inside and must be seated.

Deputy Premier John Barilaro described next week as the state’s “happy hour”.

“It’s time to wine and dine,” he said.

PUBS

All local Hills district pubs and larger venues The Hills Shire Times spoke to will be opening their doors from June 1.

That includes Bull and Bush in Baulkham Hills, Castle Hill RSL, Hills Tavern, Bella Vista Hotel, Hillside Hotel and Governor Hotel.

“We are just really excited have our locals back, looking forward to opening up and getting back to normal business,” said Hills Tavern licencee Brett Walker.

RESTAURANTS

Most restaurants will also now be opening their doors for in-house dinning but patrons are advised to call in advance with some restaurants offering staged sittings.

The 160-seater Entrata Restaurant at Glenhaven are offering two sessions a night, with reduced numbers.

Daniel Karjadi the owner from Benzin Cafe in Dural said his cafe will be open for fifty people.

He said the last couple of months have been tough.

“It has been hard limiting to take- away,” he said.

“People in The Hills don’t think of a cafe for take-away they think a chicken shop or food court.

Bur Mr Karjadi said limiting a cafe to 10 people was difficult because some patrons were unaware of the rules.

“We were on thin ice,” he said.

He is hopeful with the government allowing 50 people it will be easier.

Dosa Hut Dining in Dural will also open its doors for 50 people next week, as will Anzan Indian.

A spokesperson for Anzan Indian said business had been slow with the 10 person rule but they were hopeful with the easing of restrictions people would start dining out.

The Hills Shire Times was unable to contact Quoi dining in Baulkham Hills and Modo Miu in Castle Hill.

Australian Beauty Salon owner Nikki Iyidilli says she is excited to be opening her doors.
