ONE THOUSAND pieces of fried chicken will be given away to celebrate the opening of a new restaurant in Castle Hill which specialises in Korean fried chicken and beer.

Gami Chicken and Beer officially opened on Monday this week at Castle Towers in the outdoor piazza area near Event Cinemas.

On both Thursday and Friday, 500 pieces of chicken will be given away free of charge to celebrate the opening of the store.

The free giveaway will run between 12-12.30pm and 5.30-6pm on the two days (or until the delicious chicken runs out).

It is only the second Gami Chicken and Beer restaurant to open in Sydney — which originated in Melbourne.

Gami Chicken and Beer Castle Towers owner Lisa Gouw said the modern-Korean restaurant was a good fit for the area.

“We wanted to open something that is a bit different from the rest and Castle Towers is definitely the place to go,” she said.

“I can see that in the next three to five years Castle Towers will be transformed into a totally different shopping centre. It will be one of the biggest in Australia.”

She said the food spoke for itself.

“Fried chicken is one of the best Korean foods that everybody can enjoy and, on top of that, to make it more glorious, Gami have partnered with a Victorian brewery.”

She said Thunder Road Brewery had created a beer to match the fried chicken which was only available at Gami. There is also a long list of other beers and dishes to choose from.

The store will be open from 11.30am-11pm each day (closing between 3pm-5pm on weekdays).
