The CareFlight Rapid Response Helicopter rushed to Sydney’s northwest on Sunday after a woman was injured when she fell off a horse.

The 53-year-old woman was taken to hospital in a stable condition after she fell off her horse in Galston before 9.30am on January 5.

The woman was found by bystanders after she lost consciousness following the fall.

CareFlight landed in a horse arena near the scene.

“The aeromedical crew was first on the scene to assess the woman’s condition,” a CareFlight spokesman said.

“CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic provided initial treatment for the woman’s head injuries.”

The woman was taken to Westmead Hospital by road in a stable condition, with the support of the CareFlight and NSW Ambulance critical care team.
