LESS than a week after he was refused entry to Bali, Finks outlaw bikie gang president Koshan Radford has pleaded not guilty to punching an officer in the face.

Mr Radford appeared in Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday afternoon on six charges including assaulting an officer, resisting arrest and urging his dog to attack police, after the incident at his Annangrove home on Monday night.

Operation Talon officers — a police division set up to investigate gun crime in Sydney — were at the property around 9pm when they allege Mr Radford appeared and struck an officer, leaving him with two chipped teeth and swelling to his face.

A police statement said as officers were then attempting to arrest the 39 year old, he “set his two dogs” onto the duo before retreating into his house and avoiding arrest.

It was only after reinforcements from the South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad, Operation Talon, Strike Force Raptor, The Hills and Ku-ring-gai commands were called that Mr Radford “presented himself” to police.

However the lawyer acting on behalf of Mr Radford today, Ben Clarke, raised doubts over whether those incidents occurred.

He claimed CCTV footage from one of the 17 cameras surrounding the home would exonerate his client and questioned why it had not been tendered to the court by NSW Police who seized the footage.

“Police conducted a search of the premises after he was arrested … directly where these events are said to have occurred there is CCTV cameras,” Mr Clarke said.

“Your honour can surmise why that (CCTV footage) hasn’t been produced.

“There’s no explanation why that is not here.”

Mr Clarke successfully lobbied the magistrate for bail conditions he described as “almost house arrest”, which included the handing over of Mr Radford’s passport and requirements to report to police daily.

While he granted bail, Magistrate Tim Keady raised concerns over the conditions which could see police attend the man’s home, after the court heard the Monday night incident resulted after police attended the home three nights in a row, repeatedly ringing the doorbell.

Speaking to Mr Radford who has spent the night in custody, Magistrate Keady warned him against breaching his bail conditions even if “he did not like police”.

Mr Radford was set to be released from custody after a $10,000 payment to the court and the surrendering of his passport, as well as a condition to not associate with any members of tha Finks OMCG.

His wife watched on from the gallery, with her youngest child in tow, and as he was taken back into custody before his release, Mr Radford gave a thumbs up to Mr Clarke.

The matter is due to return to court in January.
