Federal Election 2019: Mitchell election results
The votes have been counted and the sausages have been eaten - Liberal MP Alex Hawke has been returned as the representative for Mitchell.
Mitchell federal Liberal MP Alex Hawke is facing four contenders in the race to re-election in The Hills. Candidates include Labor’s Immanuel Selvaraj, United Australia Party’s Roy Hoppenbrouwer, Christian Democratic Party representative Craig Hall and The Greens’ Lawrence Murphy.
Mr Selvaraj is the closest to Mr Hawke, paying $11 to win in the safe Liberal seat. History is against Mr Selvaraj, only two other times has the electorate been won by Labor, when the Menzies government narrowly avoided a loss in 1961, and on the election of the Whitlam government in 1972.
