Five police incidents from the past week across The Hills.

North Rocks

A 66-year-old woman whose car collided with a semi-trailer before crashing into a power pole on North Rocks Rd on Saturday is in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

NSW Fire and Rescue officers had to cut her from the Toyota Starlet she was driving following the crash about 3.15pm.

NSW Ambulance and CareFlight treated the woman, who suffered chest and abdominal injuries.

She required a blood transfusion at the scene and was taken to Westmead Hospital. The woman was in a serious but stable condition today.

Police said she was driving in lane one of two and the heavy vehicle, driven by a 44-year-old man, was in lane two with both vehicles heading west.

The two vehicles collided before the Toyota veered into a pole.

North Rocks Rd was closed after the crash. Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

Castle Hill

A residential home on Gum Tree Pl was broken into during the early hours of Sunday morning with about $3000 worth of goods stolen.

A handbag, wallet, two mobile phones, two sets of keys, and cash were stolen between 2am and 6am.

Entry was believed to be through an unlocked ground-floor door.

The Hills police are asking people to keep their vehicles, garages and properties secure following a spate of thefts.

Castle Hill

A 30-year-old Parklea man has been charged with multiple offences after allegedly trying to steal four iPhones from a retail store at Castle Towers shopping centre.

The man allegedly used a screwdriver to open a cabinet at the store and put two iPhones in his bag and two iPhones down his pants about 3.30pm on Saturday.

IN OTHER NEWS

Police will allege he ran and was chased to the carpark but dropped the four phones.

He then jumped into a motor vehicle but was stopped by an off-duty officer and other witnesses, police say.

He has since been charged with larceny, goods in custody and possessing house breaking implements. He is due to front Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday, June 19.

West Pennant Hills

Someone has stolen two plants, which had been planted by Hills Shire Council, on Bellamy Farm Rd between noon on Thursday and noon on Friday.

Rouse Hill

A 49-year-old Wilberforce man has been charged with larceny after allegedly trying to steal a lawnmower and other goods from Bunnings Rouse Hill on Friday.

He entered the store about 10am and put items into a trolley, including a lawnmower worth $599, before loading up his vehicle, police allege.

He then filled the trolley again before lining up at a counter.

However, the man then tried to leave without paying, police say.

He was arrested and charged. The man is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court next Tuesday.
