Fast five: Police news across The Hills
Five police incidents from the past week across The Hills and northwest Sydney.
Kellyville
Two cars which were allegedly stolen from a home on Bel Air Drive have been found, after one was involved in a crash and a teenager arrested and the other was left in a paddock.
A white Audi A4 and a grey Lexus ES300 were reported stolen from a front garage between 11pm last Tuesday and early Wednesday morning.
The Audi A4 was involved in a crash the same morning it was allegedly stolen, about 4am, on Quakers Hill Parkway. Police arrested a 14-year-old in relation to the crash.
On Friday, about 1.15am, the Lexus was also located parked in a paddock off a road in Doonside.
No-one was inside the vehicle when it was found. Police are continuing their inquiries.
The amount of damage to both vehicles was not clear.
Baulkham Hills
Eight bunches of roses, worth about $90, were stolen from a store on Olive St about 10am on Thursday.
North Rocks
A 15-year-old boy was found with 23 tablets of the prescription medication methylphenidate, also known as Ritalin, after police approached a group of youths in Ted Horwood Reserve late on Friday night.
He did not have a prescription for the drugs and was taken back to Castle Hill police station.
A parent was also contacted. The drugs were seized and he will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.
Castle Hill
A store employee was punched and robbed while outside a store at Castle Towers shopping centre on Saturday.
The victim, in his 30s, was seated in the outer area of his workplace in The Piazza area of Castle Towers.
He was using his AirPods and his phone when an unknown male approached him about 4pm and demanded he give him his AirPods.
IN OTHER NEWS
The employee refused and was allegedly punched.
The offender then grabbed his AirPods and the man’s phone and ran off.
A witness gave chase but the offender got away. Police are investigating the robbery.
Quakers Hill
A Blacktown man was charged after items suspected of being stolen, including bank cards and jewellery, were found inside a car on Warren St on Sunday about 2.30am.
Police approached the parked vehicle and one of the occupants tried to walk off. Police stopped him.
A search of the vehicle uncovered items inside a bag believed to be stolen.
The items included Medicare cards, bank cards, driver’s licences and jewellery items.
As a result, a 41-year-old man from Blacktown was arrested and taken to Riverstone police station.
He has been charged with larceny and goods in custody.
He is due to front Blacktown Court on Monday, August 19.
