An eight-storey residential, retail and commercial building, dubbed gateway plaza, has been approved for Baulkham Hills junction at the intersection of Old Northern, Windsor and Seven Hills roads.
The development application, which was determined by the Hills Planning Panel, proposed 44 apartments across six levels or residential floors and a further two levels of retail and commercial space at 4 Old Northern Rd, Baulkham Hills — and is earmarked to replace several small businesses including food outlets, a barber shop and a real estate agent.
A mix of 10 one-, 29 two-, and five three-bedroom apartments have been approved over six levels of residential at the site, alongside 137 carparking spaces, according to planning documents.
“The proposed mixed-use development will contain two levels of retail and commercial development,” planners behind the proposal said.
Hills Shire Council planners also supported the approval of the development application, which was approved by Hills Local Planning Panel chair, Julie Walsh, last Tuesday.
The approved application at the Baulkham Hills junction is one of several developments either proposed or under construction at the site, including the 16-storey residential development under construction at 2 Seven Hills Rd by developer Dyldam, as well as a controversial proposal to redevelop the Bull and Bush hotel site.
