A high-ranking Finks motorcycle club member who police allege directed activities of a criminal group and illegally possessed drugs and weapons has had his case heard before court.
Charlie Barakat, 39, who is a senior member of the Finks in Sydney, was arrested and his Castle Hill home was raided by Strike Force Raptor in September after an investigation into alleged criminal activity across NSW.
Barakat was charged with knowingly directing activities of a criminal group.
Police allege he directed a group knowing that it “contributed to the occurrence of criminal activity,” according to court attendance notices.
He was also charged with possessing and using a prohibited weapon and being caught with cocaine and “5 vials of anabolic steroids,” court attendance notices state.
Barakat’s case was heard at Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday for a brief mention.
In court, his lawyer appeared via email and entered pleas of not guilty to the drug offences.
Pleas have not yet been entered for the remaining charges.
The matter was adjourned for the brief to be served.
Barakat, who is on bail, will return to court on November 24.
