A new ‘destination’ Lego store will be opening in Castle Hill to keep up with the community’s growing brick fans.

The new store will be opening at Level 2 in Castle Towers and feature one of the country’s widest selections including special collector editions.

The site was chosen based on online data and user groups showing there was a large community of brick fans in the Hills.

The 259sqm store will feature a Pick A Brick Wall, Minifigure station, and Digital Box where consumers can scan a LEGO boxed set and watch it “come to life in 3D” on a special screen.

Alquemie Group’s executive chairman Richard Facioni said: “Our new LEGO® Certified Store will expand the local reach of this world-class retail concept, with a quality venue within a loyal and growing community of brick fans.

“The new store will be a destination in its own right for brick fans of all ages, who we believe will respond positively to the creativity and imagination that are hallmarks of LEGO® Certified Stores.”

Both eateries will be located at the newly renovated section of the centre court.

Optical boutique Bailey Nelson and hearing services provider Hearing Australia will also be opening up on level 2.

Castle Towers Centre manager Eddie Paynter said he was “thrilled” to welcome the new retailers.

“These new retailers will give our community a variety of new experiences to enjoy at the centre, complementing our existing high quality retail offering.”

However, he said it was too early to confirm the exact opening dates due to Covid restrictions.

While Covid has dramatically reduced pedestrian traffic at Castle Towers, the shopping centre is still open for essential services including its restaurants and cafes for takeaway.

“Castle Towers is adhering to all current lockdown restrictions, meaning that our restaurants and cafes at Castle Towers are permitted to serve takeaway and delivery only, and all non-essential retail is temporarily closed in line with New South Wales Government mandates,” My Paynter said.

He said the shopping centre has also rolled out heightened cleaning measures and hand sanitiser stations.

Mr Paynter said the centre remained committed to supporting its retail partners and the local community during this challenging time.

“It's been an unprecedented and difficult time for businesses around the country, including many of our retailers here at Castle Towers,” Mr Paynter said.

“During the pandemic, we’ve been able to support many businesses operating in the centre through a range of measures, including providing regular updates on support measures and packages available to our retailer partners.

“Additionally, our Little Thanks campaign continues to go from strength to strength, celebrating local heroes and showing appreciation for essential workers who continue to provide important services during the pandemic.”

Mr Paynter said two more retailers were coming to the centre in the coming months and will be announced later on the centre’s social media.

Bailey Nelson will be located in the centre’s fashion area on level 2 and Hearing Australia will be found near Myer on the same level.
