THE queen of kaftans has arrived in The Hills.

The luxury Australian bohemian brand Camilla opened its 18th boutique in Castle Towers on Wednesday, bringing its signature prints and floaty fabrics to The Hills.

The label was founded in Bondi Beach by Camilla Franks, who as an actor started making kaftans to wear between scenes.

Camilla’s first collection made its debut in 2004, and since then has evolved to include men’s, women’s and children’s clothing as well as accessories and homewares.

Camilla has 18 boutiques across Australia, including nine in NSW, and next year will open two stores in the United States.

Camilla chief executive officer Jane McNally said Castle Hill was chosen as its newest location “due to customer demand that has been evident with online sales”.

“The concept for Castle Towers is a tented temple, set under the brand’s iconic fretwork but constructed from custom made sailcloth fabric, which has been hand-cut and fringed to reflect a gypsy tent,” she said.

“It is simply gorgeous.

“As well as an aesthetically stunning interior, which brilliantly showcases our colourful collections, the store will contain several ‘surprise and delight’ features.

“My personal favourites are the changing rooms that transport the customer to Asia, Europe or Africa in minutes, depending on which they choose, further amplifying the sense of travel and escapism which a Camilla store visit inspires.”

To celebrate its opening, Camilla will be serving bubbles and sweet treats this week along with in-store styling sessions plus a special opening day event on Saturday.

“We’ll have a Goddess Card reader floating in on Saturday and a few treats to come,” McNally said.

“As with all Camilla boutiques, we want this to feel like an escape from the everyday and we can’t wait to welcome our Hills District customers.”

Camilla is located on Level 3.
