A Hills shire man has been charged with allegedly importing a commercial quantity of methamphetamine at Mount Druitt between April 17 and April 29.
Alexander Issam Jameel, 24, faced Penrith Local Court on June 30 entering no pleas.
A commercial quantity of meth is considered at least 250 grams under the Drug Trafficking Act 1985.
The Baulkham Hills man has been on bail since April 30, a day after his arrest.
Director for Public Prosecution Mr Self said the matter was still being investigated, with the potential for further charges.
Part of Isaam’s bail condition was to surrender his passport and not go within 500 metres of any departure point from Australia.
Magistrate John McIntosh rejected Jameel’s application to be excused from his next court appearance if legally represented.
“Given the serious nature of the matter, I cannot excuse him,” Mr McIntosh said.
The matter was adjourned to August 25 for brief status orders to be made.
