Rich, smoky aromas waft through the RSL’s courtyard leading diners to The Shack, the baby blue venue set up in a corner of the recently revamped all-weather outdoor area – ideally situated next to the state-of-the-art playground.

Serving beef brisket, pulled pork, barbecue chicken and short ribs, The Shack is a meatlovers’ paradise.

The brisket, smoked for 14 hours, is rich and tender inside a soft burger bun with smokey barbecue sauce and a creamy aioli.

The sticky barbecue chicken drumsticks are moist and full of flavour, a perfect example of the offset smoker’s versatility.

Outside of its smoked meats, the menu also includes fish and chips – the best crunchy-on-the-outside-fluffy-on-the-inside kind – and a cheeseburger.
