A woman is in a coma with bleeding on her brain, a lacerated liver and fractured pelvis after she was allegedly pinned between two cars in a serious case of road rage in Dubbo on Thursday.

Marcia Ann Dixon, 43, allegedly drove a Holden Commodore at the 41-year-old woman, who was standing on the side of the road near the intersection of Cobra Street and Brigalow Avenue at about 10.50am.

Dixon appeared in Dubbo Local Court on Friday, charged with causing grievous bodily harm to a person with intent, and failing to stop and assist afterwards.

The court heard Ms Dixon was allegedly overtaken on a Fitzroy Street roundabout.

Police allege there was a verbal altercation between the women before Dixon allegedly drove at the woman standing on the footpath, pinning her between two cars.

According to police, various witnesses saw the incident unfold and filmed it on their phones.

Magistrate Gary Wilson refused Ms Dixon’s bid for bail and said the incident was “incomprehensible”.

He told the court the alleged victim was in an induced coma with bleeding on the brain, a lacerated liver and fractured pelvis.

“It appears that you just drove straight at her and then you fled the scene,” Magistrate Wilson told Ms Dixon who wept in the dock.

The woman Ms Dixon has been accused of attacking was flown to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

The case returns to court on October 29.
