A LIFE-SIZE Tyrannosaurus rex is set to draw crowds at Stockland Wetherill Park as of next Monday.

The 11-metre long, two tonne model stared in the recent National Geographic documentary T-Rex Autopsy.

Australian Museum Director and CEO Kim McKay said she was excited to give people outside the Sydney CBD a chance to see something so spectacular.

“This year is our 190th anniversary, a major milestone marking our role as the nation’s first museum, so touring a life-size T-Rex is a perfect gift to share with the people of NSW,” she said.

The tour launches on Monday at Stockland Wetherill Park and will travel around the state.

DINOSAURS DECODED

Donated to the Australian Museum by National Geographic, the model vividly shows what made a T-Rex tick with an up close look at its vital organs — including a giant heart.

Visitors will also be able to enter a competition to name the dinosaur.
