CABRAMATTA’S newest tea house, Beau Tea, is a sweet floral oasis in the heart of the bustling suburb.

Exotic tea-based drinks — such as the rainbow latte, rosie latte and peach oolong tea — are topped elaborately with whipped cream, flower petals and vibrant sprinkles.

They are served in illustrated paper cups in pastel tones designed exclusively by Beau Tea.

Maggie Chen opened the boutique tea cafe just three weeks ago in Cabramatta’s Dutton Plaza.

She said business was already thriving.

“We already have regular customers who keep coming back,” Ms Chen said.

“Cabramatta has a lot of people who like these sorts of drinks and that’s why we decided to open here.”

Hong Kong-style milk tea often uses powdered milk, but Ms Chen’s creations have a unique and healthier point of difference.

“We use really good quality tea and fresh milk to make the drinks,” Ms Chen said. “My friend asked me whether our drinks are healthy for children — that’s why we use real ingredients.”

The rosie latte, complete with real rose petals and honey, is popular with customers, along with the peach oolong tea.

The rainbow latte — chocolate flavoured with whipped cream — is a favourite with children.

The dark oolong is a strongly flavoured option that is most popular with the tea shop’s male customers.

Whatever their flavour preference, customers have taken to sitting in the peaceful space to enjoy the unique treats away from the hustle and bustle of Cabramatta’s main strip.

“We’re really happy here in Cabramatta’s Dutton Plaza,” Ms Chen said.

“We think in the future it will be even more busy.”

Ms Chen ultimately wants to turn Beau Tea into a franchise and set up shop in the city.

But for now, this hidden gem is a Cabramatta exclusive.
