The Western Sydney Wanderers have signed under-17 international Alyssa Rose for the remainder of the Westfield W-League season.
Rose replaces Sophie Hancock with the winger departing the club by mutual consent.
A midfielder who can also play in the backline, the Mt Pritchard resident has spent her formative years in the elite pathway playing for Football NSW Institute and the NTC.
Head coach Rich Byrne says that Rose adds value to the squad.
“Alyssa is a player we were looking at and keeping out eye on: she’s had a great season with Institute, a good footballing brain and we’re excited for her to join the squad,” Byrne said.
“With her vision of the game and her confidence on the ball, Alyssa adds more composure to our squad and also gives us a local, young player of quality for the future.
Byrne said Rose has worked hard and deserves her chance to play at an elite level.
“Alyssa is a football person and surrounding herself with some of our experienced players will only see her improve further,” he said.
The Wanderers have a bye this weekend before travelling to Victoria and Lakeside Stadium on Sunday December 11 to take on Melbourne Victory.
