Series of indecent assaults and handbag snatches prompt police hunt for male suspect

Police are on the hunt for a man allegedly connected to a series of indecent assaults and bag snatches in Bossley Park over the past fortnight.
At 6am on August 19, a 60-year-old woman was walking along Rickard Rd when she was approached by a man and indecently assaulted. She screamed and the man fled.
At 8pm on August 21, a 45-year-old woman was walking along Restwell Rd when a man ran past her and stole her handbag.
At 6am on August 22, a 25-year-old woman was walking along Polding St when she was approached from behind and indecently assaulted. She screamed and her attacker fled.
At 8.30pm on August 24, a 46-year-old woman was walking along Carlyle St when she was approached by a man. He followed her before indecently assaulting her and attempting to steal her handbag but she broke free and the man fled.
Fairfield police have launched an investigation and initial inquiries suggest the same man is responsible.
Police have released CCTV footage of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.
The man shown is described as being of Asian, Pacific Islander or Maori appearance, aged in his early 20s, about 175cm tall with a slim build and dark hair.
He is shown wearing a hooded jumper and dark- coloured tracksuit pants.
Police have increased regular patrols of the area as the investigation continues and are urging members of the public to remain vigilant.
