TEA BAGS takes on a whole new meaning when you see the refreshing new treats on offer at a new store in Canley Heights.
Tea bags T-Shop sells, literally, tea bags — tea in bags.
Manager Tuan Tran said more than 150 people queued up for a taste at the store’s grand opening.
“It’s more than just iced tea,” Tran said.
“People love it because not only does it taste amazing, it looks amazing too.”
The teas come in a variety of flavours such as fruity apple, lemon, watermelon, lychee, orange and peach, more exotic rose and traditional mint.
Tea bags are brewed fresh every day, using locally sourced fresh ingredients and natural flavours to create vibrant, fun and exotic drinks.
A spokeswoman said Canley Heights was chosen as their first location because it was a fast-growing hub in southwest Sydney.
“It’s a hot spot for emerging start-up businesses in terms of innovation, creativity and new trends,” she said.
“The Canley Heights community is one that gets behind new start-ups and is prepared to embrace new concepts.”
Tea bags also aims to be environmentally conscious by providing teas in flat pack, zip-lock bags made of recyclable plastic.
“Should the bags ever end up in landfill, they pack flat, minimising the negative effects to landfill as opposed to plastic bottles,” Tran said.
The new store has also partnered with Toby’s Estate Coffee Roasters to offer beans and coffee.
In a further bid to mitigate their environmental impact, the store will soon launch a skincare product that makes use of recycled coffee grounds.
A corporate partnership with international beauty megastore Sephora has also seen the unique treats distributed at various in-store parties and events in recent months.
The Tea bags store is now open at 256 Canley Vale Rd, Canley Heights.
