More charges possible for man who allegedly ran over school girl
A man alleged to have run over a nine-year-old girl and her mother faced court this afternoon over drink driving charges.

Lakman Singarasa presented to Fairfield Local Court on August 20 to face allegations his blood alcohol limit was 0.164 – more than three times the legal limit.
He lost control of his Mercedes C250 at about 3pm on June 14, allegedly crashing into people, cars and the backyard of a residential home.
A mother – who was picking up her nine-year-old daughter from Girraween Public School – tried to shield her from the impact. Both were transported to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition and were released by the following day.
Mr Singarasa then allegedly crashed into two parked cars and mowed down a backyard fence, stopping just shy of a children’s play set.
At Fairfield Local Court on Tuesday, he faced one count of drive with High Range PCA. A police spokesman said additional charges could be laid depending on the outcome of their investigation.
A Tamil interpreter was not available during the proceedings, compelling the magistrate to order an adjournment. An interpreter should be present when the case returns before Fairfield Local Court on October 8.
