Mohamad Faytrouni faces court after cops find weapons including Glock, Colt, rifle scope, drugs and cash

A man has faced court accused of owning a stash of illegal weapons, including a Glock, a rifle scope and wads of cash, has appeared in a western Sydney court.

A man accused of having semi-automatic guns, hundreds of bullets and $17,000 in cash suspected of being stolen has appeared in Fairfield Local Court.

Mohamad Faytrouni, a 30-year-old from Lansvale, pleaded not guilty to nine charges today, most of them related to the illegal possession of guns, stolen goods and steroids.

The Wetherill Park enforcement squad arrested Faytrouni on January 10 as part of its ongoing investigation into drug and firearms.

They allege a search of his Lansvale home uncovered a Colt WKIV .45 semiautomatic with a ‘defaced’ serial number, a Glock Model 17 9mm semi-automatic, a rifle scope, 363 rounds of ammunition and two pistol magazines.

They also allege they found 11 vials of steroids, and $17,350 in cash suspected of being stolen or unlawfully obtained.

Police will allege in court that Faytrouni did not hold a valid firearm’s licence.

He has been charged with two counts of possess unauthorised pistol; use, supply, acquire or possess defaced firearm; possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit; two counts of not keep firearm safely – pistol; goods in personal custody suspected being stolen; possess prohibited drug and possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority.

Faytrouni is on bail with strict conditions imposed, including he reports to Fairfield Police daily, does not leave NSW and does enter an international airport.

His case will return to Fairfield Local Court on March 4.
