A MAN has walked away almost without a scratch from a horrific wreck after his car rolled three times on a busy southwest Sydney road.
Kiet Van Nguyen, 52, was driving east on Cabramatta Rd West this morning when a car swerved suddenly into his lane.
He stomped on the brakes to prevent an accident — but his car rolled wildly into the road.
It flipped three times before coming to rest.
“I didn’t want to get him, I didn’t want to hurt him,” Mr Nguyen said.
“He cut into my lane and I couldn’t stop.”
The sedan’s roof was caved in and the bumper left strewn in the street — but Mr Nguyen walked away with just a minuscule spot of blood on his elbow.
The driver at fault, whose car was minimally damaged, felt so bad he drove Mr Nguyen back to his house from the crash scene.
Fairfield police officers were coincidentally in the car behind and watched the near tragedy occur.
As the driver at fault arranged to drive Mr Nguyen, uninjured, from the scene, an officer quipped — “I wish all my car crashes were like this one.”
Mr Nguyen said repeatedly how lucky he was as he rubbed his neck, sore with whiplash.
“I am lucky my son was not in the car and that I wasn’t taking him to school,” he said.
“I am so lucky.”
Fire and Rescue and traffic emergency workers attended the scene and cleaned up the fuel spill when the car was towed from the scene.
Traffic on Cabramatta Rd West has now returned to normal.
