Jason Mansor charged with murder of Alen Moradian

Chilling new details of how bikie drug lord Alen Moradian was tracked down and murdered at his eastern suburbs apartment building have been unveiled in court as a fifth man was charged.

A man who allegedly provided tracking devices which led bikie cocaine king Alen Moradian’s killers to his door has been slapped with additional large commercial drug supply charges.

Chilling new details of how Moradian was found and executed in his Bondi Junction underground parking garage on June 27 were unveiled as a fifth man, Jason Mansor, was charged with his murder.

The 22-year old Canley Vale man is charged over allegations he provided tracking devices to men charged with arranging Moradian’s killing so they could locate the slain Comanchero.

The Fairfield Advance can now exclusively reveal new details of how police allege Moradian’s execution was orchestrated after successfully opposing efforts to suppress Mansor’s name.

At his bail application at Fairfield Local Court on Thursday, Magistrate James Gibson said detectives would allege Moradian had an ongoing dispute over a drug debt with another person charged with organising the execution.

“Part of the planning and conversations intercepted or recorded between two of those charged is that trackers could be obtained in order to secure the location of Alen Moradian’s premises so that his murder could be carried out,” Mr Gibson said.

“They were purchased from Amazon and delivered to Merrylands, they have a Global Positioning System and a SIM card.”

Police assert phones seized on the day Mansor was arrested contain messages on encrypted app Threema linking him to tracking devices.

Mansor’s senior counsel Ertunç Özen had argued police may struggle to establish whether a device retrieved from Moradian’s car after he was shot and recovered in a partially burnt-out Porsche connected to the alleged shooters was the same device linked to Mansor’s address.

Mr Özen further argued a jury would have to find Mansor knew the tracking device he allegedly procured would be used in Moradian’s murder.

“Police set out a link between a device and various mobile phones that they say belong to Mansor,” Mr Gibson said of the police case.

“An analysis of the devices (allegedly) shows not only that it was operating in a vehicle in Canley Vale, but near his premises on various days throughout June – (police allege) it was in the possession of Mansor.”

Mr Özen submitted the police case against Mansor was weak because there was no evidence to indicate he had ever discussed plans to murder Moradian with any others charged over his death.

“It seems he was involved in the provision of that tracking device, the question is one of knowledge,” Mr Gibson said.

“There is no communication that strictly places him as being aware of the murder – there is, on the evidence before me, some inference he knew what the tracking devices were being used for.”

After analysing a dedicated encrypted criminal communication device found at Mansor’s address, police further allege he used a code name Abracadabra to organise the purchase of a car on Facebook Marketplace.

That car was then allegedly fraudulently registered to a man who is not suggested to have any involvement with Moradian’s death.

Police allege an identical process of purchasing cars on Facebook Marketplace and fraudulently registering them to the same unrelated man occurred with the getaway cars used after Moradian was fatally shot.

The analysis of devices allegedly belonging to Mansor also resulted in him separately being charged with two counts of knowingly participating in large commercial drug supply related to 1kg of cocaine and 500g of methamphetamine between June 1 and July 27 this year.

He was charged with another two counts of knowingly participating in large commercial drug supply related to another kilogram of cocaine and another 500g of methamphetamine between July 30 and September 20.

He was further charged with two counts of participating in a criminal group in respect of the alleged supply, and two counts of knowingly dealing with crime proceeds after police seized $28,750 cash on July 27 and $39,205 cash on December 18.

Mr Özen told the court the first sum of money resulted from Mansor selling his car, while the second was said to be his mother’s cash savings.

The experienced silk also said Mansor had been overseas in the United States for all but a handful of days in which the second drug supply is alleged to have occurred.

He further said a jury would have to find Mansor was actually the user Abracadabra to find him guilty of any involvement with drug supply.

In relation to the devices seized from his address, Mansor is charged with two counts of possessing a dedicated encrypted criminal communication device to commit serious criminal activity and two counts of failing to comply with a digital evidence access order direction.

Mr Gibson said on the strength of the cases against him, Mansor was facing a real prospect of a lengthy custodial sentence and found he had not shown why his detention was not justified.

Bail was refused and Mansor’s matter will return to court on February 1.

Mr Gibson also refused an application to suppress Mansor’s identity in connection with the proceedings over cited concerns for his safety after police said they had no intelligence to indicate any specific threat to Mansor.
