Fairfield: Unregistered dentist Aziz Sabel banned from providing health services
A dentist who worked out of these clinics in western Sydney has been banned for life after it was revealed he was never registered in Australia despite authorising the removal of nine teeth from one patient alone without his consent.

A dodgy dentist who operated in three clinics Fairfield has been banned after it emerged he was not a registered practitioner, despite authorising the removal of nine teeth frm one man alone without his consent.
The NSW Health Care Complaints Commission has banned Aziz Sabel, 49, for life after investigating two separate complaints made last year.
The commission found Mr Sabel had never been registered as a dental practitioner in Australia and “wilfully misrepresented” himself as a registered dentist to two witnesses.
In its decision handed down last month, the commission determined he posed an “unacceptable risk” to public health and safety.
Operating at three premises in Fairfield, Smithfield and Mt Pritchard between 2016 and 2019, Mr Sabel provided or facilitated services including teeth extraction and placement of braces.
He operated under the business entities AJH Facilities, now deregistered, and AIM Dental Laboratory.
Evidence uncovered by the commission also indicated he may have impersonated or falsely practised under the name of another Fairfield dentist.
Witness A, a man aged 62 at the time of treatment, told the Commission he had nine teeth removed under Mr Sabel’s direction without his informed consent for $7000 cash.
The Commission heard when he sought a refund, he was given an invalid bank cheque for $2000.
Witness A gave evidence Mr Sabel did not personally extract his teeth, but instead selected which teeth should be removed and instructed another person named ‘John’ to extract them.
The treatment took place at the Fairfield and Smithfield practices between April 2018 and May 2019.
A second witness — Witness B — gave evidence her two daughters, both aged under 18, were treated by Mr Sabel for teeth extraction and placement and ongoing adjustment of braces between December 2016 and December 2019.
Witness B told the Commission she took her daughters to see Mr Sabel every one or two months for treatment and that during their final consultation last September, he had each of her daughters take turns to hold dental tools during treatment at the Mt Pritchard practice.
“According to Witness B’s complaint, Mr Sabel failed to finalise the braces for her daughters, misrepresented his qualifications as a dentist and became unresponsive to Witness B and her requests for completion of treatment or a refund,” the commission’s statement read.
In May 2018, a complaint was made to the Dental Council of NSW.
Witness C alleged a dentist named Aziz Sabel had attempted to fix a tooth at the Fairfield practice but had made it worse.
“Witness C states that Mr Sabel admitted that he was not a dentist and asked Witness C not to report it,” the HCCC statement read.
The commission wrote to Mr Sabel in April proposing to take action and invited submissions within 28 days, but did not receive a response.
