Alen Bona charged after alleged road rage incident

Bossley Park man Alen Bona has been charged after allegedly stabbing a man during a road rage incident at Fairfield Heights on Sunday.
A second man has also been charged in relation to the incident.
Bona, 21, allegedly knifed Sarkoun Youkhana in the torso and inflicted head injuries on Mike Jamal, both 20, near Throsby St about 3pm.
Bona was arrested at Cabramatta police station and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, affray and not disclosing the identity of the driver/passenger.
His matter was raised at Fairfield Court today where bail was refused.
Court papers revealed Bona’s bail was rejected because one of the men was still recovering and receiving treatment in hospital, because he failed to disclose the co-accused’s identities which would assist police with arrests and he would endanger the “victim, individual or the community’’.
The papers cited “a strong prosecution case” in which several witness’ photographs from the alleged incident were obtained.
Both men’s injuries were not considered life threatening.
On Monday, police arrested a 19-year-old man at a home at Bulls Rd, Wakely, before taking him to Fairfield police station where he was charged with wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.
The man was refused bail to appear before Fairfield Court today where he was formally refused bail to reappear at the same court on November 23.
Bona’s matter was also adjourned to November 23.
