Two more restaurants and a school in southwest Sydney have been hit by coronavirus after health authorities confirmed cases attended the venues while infectious.

NSW Health issued an alert on Sunday evening after a couple who tested positive for COVID-19 visited An Restaurant Bankstown on July 23 from 9-11am and Tan Viet Noodle House — also known as Crispy Chicken Noodle House — in Cabramatta on July 22 from 1-2pm.

Anyone who attended either of these restaurants at these times should monitor for symptoms and immediately isolate and seek testing if they appear.

Fairfield City Council Mayor Frank Carbone said testing rates in the region were increasing with almost 14,000 tests conducted at clinics across Fairfield.

“We have been here before Fairfield and we have stopped the virus and we can do it again.

Next week is an important week, those with any symptoms must isolate and get tested,” he posted on Facebook.

“For the next week it’s recommended that we all do what is essential only, get tested with symptoms and always social distance.”

Meantime, a student at Georges River Grammar School in Georges Hall was also confirmed to have COVID-19.

The child is linked with the funeral and related church services between July 16 and July 19.

The school has been closed while contact tracing and cleaning are underway.

Close contacts have been advised by health authorities to self-isolate for 14 days since their last contact with the case and get tested if they develop symptoms.

On Sunday, NSW Health directed diners who attended another Thai Rock restaurant at Potts Point for two hours or more between Wednesday, July 15 and Saturday, July 25 to immediately get tested for COVID-19 and self-isolate for 14 days since they were last there, regardless of symptoms.

The urgent advice came after investigation into a case announced last week reported spending time at Thai Rock Potts Point on Friday, July 17.

A staff member at the restaurant — which has the same owners as Thai Rock Wetherill and has been linked to 67 infections — has also tested positive.

The restaurant has been closed for cleaning and investigations into the source of the infection are underway.

Anyone who attended Thai Rock Potts Point for less than two hours on these dates should monitor for symptoms and immediately isolate and seek testing if they appear.
