A home invasion in Sydney’s southwest involving several men – with one allegedly brandishing a gun – has resulted in a man being hospitalised.
Emergency services were called around 11pm on Monday to a house on Ravenswood St in Canley Vale after receiving reports of a group of men wearing head coverings had forced entry into the home.
The men had allegedly threatened the people in the house with a firearm before assaulting a 42-year-old man.
They allegedly then stole cash from the premises before fleeing the scene in a black Audi Q5 SUV.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 42-year-old man at the scene for a head injury before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.
There have been no other reports of injuries at this time.
Police allege the firearm was also fired into a gate during the violent break-in and have established a crime scene to investigate the incident.
Police are urging anyone with information into the incident or dashcam footage to call police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
