Two men have been charged following a seven-month investigation into a shooting in Sydney’s west.

Police were called to Bailley St, Leumeah, following reports of shots fired in the early hours of June 20.

A parked and unoccupied car was found damaged at the scene and there were no reports of any person being injured.

A crime scene was established and inquiries into the incident were launched under Strike Force Fatherigay.

On January 8, a 42-year-old man was arrested at a hotel on the Hume Highway, Cabramatta and charged with two counts of supplying a prohibited firearm to an unauthorised person and supplying a pistol to a person unauthorised to possess it.

He was also charged with supplying a prohibited drug greater than small and less than or equal to indictable quantity, firing a firearm at a dwelling disregarding safety, contravening a prohibition/restriction in AVO and not disclosing the identity of driver.

Strike force detectives also arrested a 33-year-old man during a vehicle stop on Nardoo St, Ingleburn.

He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with three counts of acquiring prohibited firearm supplier not authorised and driving while licence suspended.

The men were refused bail, with the 42-year-old to appear at Fairfield Court and the 33-year-old due to front Campbelltown Court.
