Wellington: Titan Gilkes and Mark Charles Stanley have been named in Dubbo Local Court for the alleged murder of Paul Jacques

Two men, charged over the murder of central west man Paul Jacques in 2021, have been named in court. Here’s the latest.

Two men have been named in court over the alleged murder of a central west man who died by a gunshot wound almost two years ago.

Titan Gilkes, 21, and Mark Charles Stanley, 20, were represented by their solicitors Lucy Maher and Lara Martyn-France in Dubbo Local Court for the alleged murder of 67-year-old Paul Jacques - the pair were not required.

The pair have also been charged with assault with an intention to rob with a dangerous weapon.

The two men have not yet entered a plea.

About 3.30am in August 2021, emergency services were called to a home on Gisborne St, Wellington, following reports of a shooting.

Orana Mid-Western officers Mr Jacques with a gunshot wound to his leg.

Mr Jacques was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital in a serious condition, where he died a short time later.

Strike Force Clavert was established to commence inquiries into the death of the man.

Strike force detectives charged and arrested Stanley on May 29 in a correctional centre, before the arrest of Gilkes on June 7 in correctional centre in the south coast.

The alleged offenders are in custody.

The pair will appear before the same court on September 21.
