Wayne John Allan Rochester, 39, charged after Strike Force Jeffre raid at Cowra

A man has been charged with six offences, including supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, after a raid on a central west home allegedly found 749g of meth and wads of cash.

Police have allegedly seized almost three-quarters of a kilogram of methamphetamine and tens of thousands of dollars in cash in a raid following a 10-month investigation into the alleged supply of drugs in a central west town.

Wayne John Allan Rochester, 39, was arrested by Strike Force Jeffre investigators during the dawn search warrant on a property on Dungaleer St, Cowra on Wednesday.

Police said in a statement that the strike force was established by Chifley police district detectives in December last year to investigate the alleged supply of prohibited drugs in the town.

During the raid, police allegedly seized 749 grams of methamphetamine, more than $67,000 in cash, prohibited weapons, a paintball gun, almost 200 buprenorphine strips, mobile phones, a laptop, handcuffs, fireworks, and a Ford Raptor utility.

Rochester was taken to Cowra police station where he was charged with supplying a prohibited drug over large commercial quantity, two counts of possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit, supplying a prohibited drug over an indictable and under a commercial quantity, possessing a paintball marker outside authorised paintball venue, and dealing with property proceeds of crime.

Rochester faced Orange Local Court on Thursday where he was not required to enter any pleas.

Magistrate David Day refused Rochester bail and remanded him in custody to appear in Cowra Local Court on November 27.

A woman, 38, was also arrested that the address and later charged with supplying a prohibited drug over an indictable quantity and under a commercial quantity, and recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime.

The woman was given conditional bail to appear in Cowra Local Court September 25.
