Warren: Teen charged with dangerous driving over death of another boy, 16, in motorbike crash

A teenager been charged over the death of another boy following a fatal crash involving two motorbikes last week.
Emergency services were called to the Oxley Highway at Warren, near Rifle Range Road about 2.15pm on July 21, following reports two motorbikes had collided.
Orana Mid-Western Police District officers were told that after the collision, the rider of one of the motorbikes then left the roadway and crashed into a tree.
That rider, a 16-year-old boy, died at the scene.
The other rider was taken to Warren Hospital for mandatory testing.
A crime scene was established and the Western Plains Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The surviving boy attended Warren Police Station about 4pm on Saturday, when he was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death and negligent driving occasioning death.
He was also charged with using an unregistered motor vehicle on the road and riding unlicensed.
The teenager was granted conditional bail to face a children’s court on September 26.
