Warren: Man refused bail after police allegedly seize rifles, ammunition, tools
A man has been refused bail after police allegedly seized stolen firearms from his property related to thefts from towns across the state’s central west.

A 23-year-old man has been charged after allegedly stealing a vehicle, tools and firearms from a home in the state’s central west.
Orana Mid-Western Police District officers were told the items were allegedly stolen from a property on Wambianna Rd, near Warren, on September 17.
The next day, the vehicle was found on Rifle Range Rd, Warren, with the contents of the vehicle removed.
On September 27, Warren Police and Rural Crime Prevention Team investigators attended a residence on Dubbo St and conducted a search.
Investigators allegedly located two .22 magnum calibre rifles, one of which had been confirmed as allegedly stolen from the Wambianna Rd property.
Police claim the other firearm was stolen from a property in Gilgandra in 2022.
“Investigators also seized a silver-coloured gel blaster pistol and ammunition, along with a large quantity of tools that police will allege were the tools stolen from the Wambianna Rd property,” police said in a statement.
The man was taken to Narromine Police Station where he was charged with two counts of possession of stolen firearms, possession of an unauthorised pistol, possession of ammunition without holding a licence and obtaining stolen property.
The man has been refused bail.
He will appear before Warren Local Court on November 28.
