Wambion St, Gilgandra: Wanted man has been charged with string of firearm offences following outstanding warrant
A man wanted on an outstanding warrant for firearm-related offences has been charged in the state’s central west. Here’s what we know.

A wanted man on an outstanding arrest warrant has been charged after firearms have been allegedly seized in the state’s central west.
Orana Mid-Western Police District officers attended a home on Wambion St, Gilgandra, about 8.40am on Tuesday morning, to ensure compliance of a Firearm Prohibition Order, and a Weapon Prohibition Order.
Following a search of the home, police located nine firearms and a bag with white crystalised substance believed to be methamphetamine.
A 42-year-old man was arrested and taken to Gilgandra Police Station and charged with three counts of possessing an unregistered firearm, two counts of possessing ammunition without a permit, suspected good stolen, two counts of possessing a shortened firearm without authority and four counts of possessing an unauthorised prohibited firearm.
The man was also charged with using a prohibited weapon, possessing three unregistered firearm and one prohibited firearm, possessing three unregistered firearms without a permit, acquiring a firearm subject to prohibition order, acquiring a prohibited firearm subject to prohibition order, acquiring ammunition subject to prohibition order and possessing prohibited drugs.
An outstanding warrant was also executed.
The man appeared at Gilgandra Local Court on Tuesday, where he was formally refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday.
