Wambangalang: Two men critical after car crashes into kangaroo, catches alight on Obley Rd

Two men are in a critical condition following a car crash in the state’s central west, with initial reports the car hit a kangaroo before crashing and catching alight. Here’s the latest.

Car catches light after hitting kangaroo

Two men have been hospitalised after a car caught on fire in the state’s central west.

Emergency services were called to Obley Rd, Wambangalang, following reports of a crash around 6.40am on Thursday.

Orana Mid-Western Police Area Command officers arrived to find a Toyota SUV had hit a kangaroo before crashing and catching alight.

The 29-year-old male driver and one 22-year-old male passenger were flown to Westmead Hospital in a critical but stable condition.

Two other passengers were uninjured.

Police have established a crime scene and are investigating the cause of the crash.

Inquiries are ongoing.
